The first floor has a double height ceiling with a mezzanine which covers

- The design of the building is modern, the walls facing the streets
are of glass curtain wall construction with natural colored anodized aluminum
extruded sections. and exterior walls covered with Nicoyan marble.
- The building foundation consists of isolated steel reinforced concrete
plates designed for soil support of 8000 lb/in 2, according to the recommendations
of the soil study. The interior and exterior walls are prestressed concrete,
with veneer of concrete block or brick. The office areas are divided using
removable plywood partitions. The floors are prestressed concrete with
beams every 20 cms. and with a 5 cm. cap of concrete. The roof structure
is steel trusses covered with galvanized iron.
- The main staircase and the emergency staircase are prestressed concrete
and structural metal with oak handrails.
- The floors are polished terrazzo tiles with bronze dividers. Staircase
treads are preformed terrazzo. The first floor doors fronting the street
are extruded aluminum with tempered glass, interior doors are of wood with
plywood decoration.
- The electric installation is via conduits hidden in the walls and ceilings
with adequate control panels. A water storage tank exists under the first
floor with pump capable of 40 lb/in2 and a galvanized 30 gal. There is
also a pneumatic tank with a pump capable of 10 lb/in2. Sewage systems
consists of 4 in. cast iron tubing.
